Garden Hand Tools

Hand trowels are common garden hand tools. This tool is excellent for digging and loosening soil to accommodate new plants. A hand trowel can also be used for digging up weeds. It is also handy for moving dirt from one part of the garden to another.

A knife for weeding is a prerequisite for garden hand tools. A knife will usually have a serrated edge. This makes it easier to cut through tough weeds. If digging up a weed would damage a plant then one can use the knife to cut off the weed and stunt its growth.

A shovel is also a necessary implement when buying garden hand tools. Shovels can have short or long handles. The handles can be made of wood or metal. Metal handled shovels are usually heavier and may require more strength than a wooden one. When digging holes for embedding plants, one should use a sharp-pointed shovel.
