Acer Red Flamingo Tree

Bursting with vibrant colour, this acer red flamingo tree makes an excellent standalone feature, but also works well in borders and containers.

It has a compact, bushy growing habit and boasts colourful highly patterned foliage in shades of green, pink, cream and white. Young plants feature vibrant red stems that take on white striations as they mature, producing an interesting striped effect during the winter months.

Also known as snake bark maple, acer red flamingo prefers a spot in full sun or partial shade. Choose a sheltered part of the garden to protect the tree against leaf scorch, which can be caused by strong winds. Water regularly until the acer is well-established. Prune lightly in late autumn to early winter.
