Clematis Josephine

With copious amounts of beautiful flowers, fast growth and hardiness against some of the harshest winters there’s no surprise that the clematis Josephine is one of the more popular options of climbers available. A vigorous deciduous climber with mid to dark green foliage which sits beneath masses of large double purple-pink flowers with long flowering periods, blooming for early in the Summer through to the beginnings of Autumn.

Plant in moisture retentive, well-drained soil and keep the root and base of the planted cool and shaded by other plants or protected with a layer of pebbles. Plant with the crown up to 8cm deep to encourage new growth from below ground level.
