Clematis Montana Rubens

The Clematis montana ‘Rubens’ is a great example of why this variety of climber is so loved. These shrubs carry beautiful spring colours in the form of red-bronze leaves in the early Spring which mature to mid-green. Afterwards, an abundance of small, sweetly scented pale-pink flowers appear from late Spring, covering the foliage in bright colour and providing a great fragrance. The perfect choice for a trellis or fence.

Plant in retentive, well-drained soils and keep the upper portion in full or partial sunlight. The roots prefer to be kept cool and shaded. This can be done via groundcover plants or a layer of small, flat pebbles.
