The Shropshire Prune Damson Tree is a mid-season damson that have an intense distinct damson flavour. They are ideal for pies, jellies, wine and jams.
Shropshire Prune trees have showy flowers in Spring and often good Autumnal foliage. Edible fruit also accommodates the branches in the later Summer early Autumn months.
The Prune Damson is a strong, but neat growing tree which has larger fruits than the Farleigh Damson. A regular and decent cropper with a harvest time of late August.
Damsons are incredibly hardy trees and will thrive anywhere in the UK. Prune Damsons are also very resistant towards diseases which usually effect plum trees.
