Exochorda Macrantha is a bushy deciduous shrub that grows short but with most noteworthy spring interests. This popular landscape plant is also known as ‘The Bride’ or Pearl Bush, for it resembles strings of white pearls attached to the arching branches. This flowering plant is glorious in the way it blooms profusely in spring.
This medium sized Pearl Bush features pearl-like flower buds in early spring, which open to form showy flowers (3cm wide) with gorgeous 5 white petals. The flowers bloom so profusely that they cover almost all the pale green leaves of the bush during season high.
The Bride Pearl Bush has a compact and rounded growing habit that makes it an excellent spring flowering hedge, especially if grown in mass planting. It grows at a medium pace and has a pretty long life, provided the right conditions and a well-drained soil to support the growth.
They do not prefer shallow chalky soil conditions. These are easy to grow flowering shrubs that require low maintenance. They will thrive in full sun or light shade and are tolerant to urban pollution. This makes them suitable for city gardens as well.
Exochorda Macrantha Bride plant illuminates the garden space around it to create a remarkable floral spring show.
