Ficus Ginseng is a quirky, very tolerant bonsai that’s perfect for beginners looking to take care of their first tree or take it up as a hobby. The branched aerial roots bear sturdy oval shaped dark green leaves that give off a lovely glossy shine, the bonsai itself is very robust and the large roots grow to massive sizes that make them look like tree trunks, with grey/reddish bark with small horizontal “tiger-like” markings. This bonsai will thrive in an indoor location with plenty of light, ideally a south facing window sill, it requires regular watering as soon as the soil appears dry, and the soil should never be allowed to dry out completely. You should look to repot your tree once the root system has completely filled out the current pot, a bigger pot and some fresh compost will do your bonsai the world of good.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves. Collections or ‘mixed’ listings for plants will be selected dependant on availability and carefully hand-picked to ensure their quality.
