Malus βRosehipβ is a newer breed of Crab Apple that, as the names suggests, closely resemble rosehips. In the Spring, pale pink buds appear which bloom into pure white flowers which persist through the Summer before producing large, glossy, bright red apples in the Autumn. The fruit is ideal for making jam due to their size and content of Pectin, which helps in the setting of jam.
Plant in moist, well-drained soil and keep in full sun. Drought tolerant once established. Self-fertile, requiring no other trees nearby to produce fruit though cross pollination yields the best results.
