Prunus First Blush Tree

Prunus first blush has a narrow, upright appearance that is ideal for smaller spaces. Masses of highly fragrant pink cherry blossom flowers cover the branches from early spring. Dark green foliage follows the flowers and turns a bright shade of orange-red in autumn. While this cherry blossom tree plant produces cherry-like fruits, they are usually insignificant and shouldn’t be eaten.

Plant your cherry blossom tree in full sun or partial shade, in a sheltered spot where the wind won’t destroy the delicate double flowers. Prunus first blush is a low maintenance garden tree and, once established, only needs to be watered during dry spells. Minimal pruning is required to maintain the tree’s neat symmetrical shape.
