Prunus Ukon Tree

Prunus ‘Ukon’ has a wonderful spreading form that is ideal to create a focal point in a medium sized garden. Plant as a specimen tree or plant more than one for a wow-look. This classic oriental Cherry tree offers lovely large semi-double creamy, yellow flowers that appear in late April and early May. The flowers are perfectly set off by the new foliage which has a reddish-bronze colour. The leaves turn to a lovely green in summer and then end with a fiery display of red, maroon and purple in autumn before falling.

Your Flowering Cherry tree is hardy and will tolerate most soil types. Try to avoid very wet or chalky areas. It can be planted in full sun or partial shade and is also pollution tolerant, making it ideal for in-city gardens. Prunus ‘Ukon’ will grow to heights of 5m with a spread of 6m in a 20 year period.
