Our Ribes rubrum Augustus is a heavy cropping variety of fruit plant. It produces Redcurrant fruits in Summer that have a great, sweet taste to them. It should be planted in late Spring/early Summer, being ready to harvest tasty Redcurrants in June and July, being one of the earliest varieties to ripen. Redcurrants are the ideal addition to any puddings, pies, jellies, wines and more.
They will grow to an ultimate height of 1m and ultimate spread of 0.75m. In terms of plant care, it should be placed in bright, indirect sunlight and planted in moist, well-drained soil. Watering becomes essential when the soil is dry to touch.
