Characteristics: Skimmia japonica Magic Marlot is a gorgeous variety of evergreen shrub. The foliage is filled with a dark green centre and neatly finished with a cream marginal border. As the plant progresses, the white budding in Autumn will turn to red, before producing lovely scented white flowers in March and April.

Growth & Spread: This gorgeous shrub has an ultimate height and spread of 1-1.5m respectively.

Period of Interest: Provides year-round, colourful interest for borders and pots. The budding in Winter will progress from a lovely white colour into a distinct red shade. It will then produce scented white flowering in the Spring months of March and April.

Water & Maintenance: Position the plant in partial shade and avoid full sun as that can cause damage to the leaves colour. Moist, well-drained soil is best for it, as well as watering it well in the first year whilst it establishes itself. Prolonged, drier periods of the year should also see more consistent watering.
